I used to be a food addict.

I struggled with emotional eating and ate a Big Mac, Biggie Fry & Large Sprite for lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY at the age of 5.

I would sit in front of the tv and eat 4 Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches at a time. And wash it down with a half-gallon of milk.

I would eat 2-3 TV dinners in one sitting and cried if the microwave took too long to heat them up.

It was like I was in a daze, not realizing how I was destroying my body.

It was a coping mechanism to escape from trauma.

When I finally woke up, I was extremely overweight, and I HATED BY BODY. (I know you may look at me now and not be able to imagine such a scenario, but trust me, this is all true.)

  • I tried every fad diet you could think of. 
  • I joined a gym and attended spin classes everything single day.
  • I got shots in my stomach.
  • I got my thyroid tested.

A Las Vegas Native, Jasmine Mays struggled with emotional eating and childhood obesity from the young age of 5. Plagued with low self-esteem and zero self-confidence, she held her head down when walking through the halls at school, avoided public speaking and refused to even look people in the eyes, even when spoken to. 

At 20, she decided to change her body and her life through clean eating, group fitness and weight training. She dropped 70 lbs by the age of 21 and began a whole new life. A decade into her fitness journey, Jasmine created the #jmCHALLENGE to empower others to create the same results and assist them in transforming their body and life.

After a 10-year career at 24 Hour Fitness and every other big-box gym in the Las Vegas area, she opened Jasmine Mays Fitness Studio in October 2018, with the mission of making fitness affordable and teaching people how to obtain real results.

She is a National Academy of Sport’s Medicine’s (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer who creates workouts designed to push and challenge participants, while building their confidence and physical abilities.  

She is also a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach who empowers people to take control of their health and reach their fitness goals, by understanding the macronutrients.

She is an Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Certified Group Fitness Instructor and is currently certified to teach Les Mills BODYPUMP®, BODYCOMBAT® and CXWORX®; ZUMBA®, ZUMBA® Step and Strong by ZUMBA®; COMMIT Dance Fitness, Cycle and Aqua Aerobics. 

She holds Bachelor's & Master's Degrees in Accounting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).
